Let go

The monkey trap. It has a very close connection with humans.

You must have known about the mousetrap, bird trap, bug trap even snake trap.

But I’m fascinated by the monkey trap.

It has a very close connection with humans.

➡ To capture the monkey the hunters would put some peanuts in the jar with an opening slightly bigger than a monkey’s hand.

➡ When this monkey sees the jar, it would reach inside and grab the food, and the hand is now turned into a fist. It then tries to withdraw its hand but it is stuck inside the jar.

➡ No matter how hard it tries he cannot pull his hand out of the jar. The opening of the jar is simply not large enough for the fist to get out.

➡ The only way the monkey can free its hand is to let go of the food. But the monkey won’t let go of the food as it grips tightly.

So how do humans relate to this story? 🤔

😄 We too in our mind hold on to something, not realizing that when we let go our circumstances would improve.

➡️ Instead of things, they could be memories or feelings.

➡️ They could also be people that you need to let go or walk away from. Or it could mean you need to forgive them and let go of the past.

🧠 Thought for you...

What are the new possibilities awaiting your open hands?

Are you holding on to the job that doesn't give the satisfaction, rewarding pay, and recognition? There is always a solution if you let go of things that don't serve you anymore.
